You ever go to Fix Cafe (Bedford and 11th, I think)?
Another Milwaukee expatriate, and my best friend in the entire world, is the manager there.

If Onopa/Stone Fly thinks they can turn their back on the local scene, they're crazy.

I was in town for about a week a couple months ago, too bad I didn't know you existed
But yeah, tall, skinny guy. Rides a IRO Mark V with red grips on his riser bars.
His name is Nick. Tell him Evan says to give you a free drink.

I got in town the weekend of Monster Track, but did not race in it.
I was just in town to see Nick and some other people and just hang out and ride around NYC.

How is it riding in Milwaukee compared to NY? Like I stated before, I didnt start riding a bike 'til I got to NY, so I'm not sure what it is like to ride there. Sometimes I think it would be harder at certain times since the cars arent as use to seeing bicyclists, therefore not as aware of us and not as considerate, plus there is so much more drunk driving going on at night.

The biggest difference in riding between Milwaukee and NYC that I see is all about time and commitment.
In NYC, riding really is the fastest and most efficient way to get around, where as in Milwaukee it's not - driving is. So, in Milwaukee you really have to be committed to riding and deal with having it take a little longer to get places.
That's the main thing, to me.
As far as drivers not being used to bikes, that is more of an annoyance. Like, you'll approach a 4 way stop and see a car pull up too. You expect the car to go so you slow down but then in Milwaukee many times they'll stop and wait for you to go. It's annoying because they often act the opposite of how you'd expect.
Obviously Milwaukee doesn't have nearly the traffic NYC has, so that's nice. I've never really encountered too much drunk drivers at night.

No need to force, shoot me a PM closer to your return date and we can get together.

I used the serenity prayer as a reminder to chill out sometimes, as I tend to view my life as drama, but I'm working on it. But as far as drinking is concerned, not a problem. I am such a lightweight. It's sad. 6 1 and 210 and I have had 100 pound women throw me under the table....
