Going to Milwaukee...

I am going to Milwaukee on the 25th, staying until the 2nd. Can anyone give me some tips on which bars I need to visit. I know I am going to Wulski's ( I think that is how you spell it) and The Highbury to watch soccer at 6 on a Sat. morning to down a pint or two. I don't want to make the mistake of walking into Walkers Point again (Wow, there are alot of women here, some of them are hot...some of them have bigger arms than me...wooo,they are kissing, i like this bar, ohhhh I not supposed to be here....got burned by a cigarette) Always ready to meet new people, first pint is on me.

Oh, and as far as bars go...
Foundation is always fun.
Roots (especially on Thursdays when my good friend Asher spins).
Von Trier is nice for a chill night out.

If you wanna play some darts at Wolskis, shoot me a PM.

My best friend lives there. he works at the starbucks at Marquette. He even has a fanpage dedicated to him on the university server. In my job, i am able to take off whenever I want, travel to different cities, and work there. Working vacations aren't bad. I am also going to Baltimore in June and west Palm in August.
My BF said that there is a guy who comes in on a fixie all the time. You wouldn't happen to work for the TSA would you?

I do not. I rarely make it over to Marquette. I actually don't even know what TSA stands for.
But that sounds like fun.
Weather is just getting nice here, it'll be a good time.
Where are you from?

Onopa is closed for remodeling to be opened under a new name, Stone Fly, at some point in the future.
Should be much better when it reopens.

Riverhorse is eh. Small and smokey. Just like Foundation only without a pool table. Actually, in Milwaukee, Foundation is the new Riverhorse. (Someone please kick my ass for using that saying).

Oh, Palomino is probably my favorite Milwaukee bar.
That slippd my mind earlier.

Palomino is good. Lulu's is another nice one. Home-aid pie if that's your thing.

Totally spam, but I can't resist. I'd like to go to Milwaukee one day:

going to wisconsin by the mountain goats

there was the sound of a lake boiling over
on that day.
everyone said just to sit still,
but the thickening air got in my way.

so the hooks been baited now,
yeah, the cheese is on the water.
yeah, all the water's been cleansed of all impurities,
but now it really doesn't matter.
let's go! let's go!

wisconsin bound.
wisconsin bound.
wisconsin bound.
yeah, wisconsin bound.

the bottom of the boat was a hot-plate come alive.
but the boat wasn't real, and this is how I feel:
you don't know where you are, until you arrive.
and the frogs sang out from the distant banks.
and you say you need me in california,
but, no thanks!

wisconsin bound.
wisconsin bound.
wisconsin bound.
yeah, wisconsin bound.

let's go!

Saw them/him in Boston last year.
Best show I've ever been to.

Bars---hmmm lets see-----the landmark is cool---so is judge's, axel's, the nomad

If you're down by marquetee, get your Bond on and go to the safehouse

I'd stay the hell away from walker's point

Be sure to stop at oakland geros for a tasty greasy afterbar snack

I got really excited when I saw this thread. After being in NY for three years, I'm moving back to Milwaukee at the end of May. I really didn't start riding my bike 'til I got to NY, and being that all my girls in MKE had babies and got married while I was gone, I'm going to have to reintroduce myself to the city and the people in it. Especially thoses on bikes, since I've become acquantied and comfortable with the messenger lifestyle. Thanks for the suggestions as well!

I would have to disagree with onopa being better. i have a few friends in bands and they are telling me that onopa is refusing to put local bands on stage when they reopen, they only want higher class bands at stone fly. but sorry that is off the subject however i would be down for going out on the town in good old brew city

I was unaware of that.
I was speaking "better" purely from a space standpoint.
And, I agress, Stone Fly refusing local bands would be 100% bull****.
I can't see that lasting.

I would have to agree with skanking biker, you have to go to oakland gyros (O.G's) after a night of drinking and it does have a bar right next to it, Axles, so after you get down with your lamb you can go and get some more PBR.
