Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I locked up next to a SE Draft Lite today and spend a minute checking it out and wow! It is a cheap looking bike. The components looked to be the same quality as an X-mart bike. I'd seen plenty of Lagers which look OK and was surprised by the drop in quality between the two models.

The BD bikes, regardless of how you feel about their marketing, offer much much higher quality at the same price point. (Of course my conversion is even better at a similar price!)

I started this thread. It is ancient and it reflects a time when there was much hate and distrust of BD. Now all you cheap *******s think BD is the greatest thing in the world.

A simple new logo for Bikesdirect, attached to one discreet place on the bikes. Period.

BD has earned it's own respect here, like it or not. They should realize this and step up to the plate.
