Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Ride of Silence...

Any fixed riders partaking in one of tonight's Rides of Silence (https://www.rideofsilence.org)? I'm doing the Fullerton, CA ride on my geared bike, but I seriously considered riding my fixie.

I was hit by a car in December on my geared bike, so it seems "right" that I do the ride on my geared bike.

Anyone else riding?

I'll be riding here tonight, 7:00pm, Birmingham, Alabama. The singlespeed beast called my name this morning as the fixed was tuckered out from last night.

Tim- I'll think of you as we ride tonight.

The TO ride is Bloor & Spadina meet @ 6:30pm leave at 7pm. I don't know if other cities are doing it this way but here it will be a slow ride, max spd 15kmph, while being quiet of course. Seems ideal for a leisurely fixed ride.
