Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? i'm gettin' up my nerve to show ya'll some pics of my IF bike i got about 2 weeks ago, but my camera is busted (i dropped it on some rocks in new hampshire on monday) and the cables to hook it into a computer are with my chick who is in atlanta and she is the one who knows how to hook it up and put pictures on the intraweb and all. plus i put some gold deep vees on that rascal and ya'll might make fun of me and make me cry. i'm ever so sensitive. when i was wee i used to sit under the neem tree and write poetry whilst the other children played their rough and tumble games. i am very delicate.

Bikes: yes

way to drop the knowledge on us, Don.

a lot of people think of steep and tight geometry as track geometry without realizing that that particular geometry is only desirable under certain conditions.

i appreciate that you make very clear that you put a lot of thought and experience into the bikes you build, instead of just measuring somebody and brazing together something with 75degree angles and tight clearances.

Don and others- thaks for summarily schooling me on the ins and outs of track geometry.

Couple last things I don't get- if the bike was designed for use with a carbon fork, then why is that steel fork on there?

What does the geometry look like mr. teadoggg's bike?

If this bike is designed for longer events, and bikes with steeper geometry for short events, is there an general "all around" good track geometry?

it's also a theory that super tight tire clearances in the fork crown work against you aerodynamically. physics dictates that if there isn't enough room for air to flow in both the direction of the wheel's spin and into the crown from the front, you're being slowed down.

NICE BIKE! Can't wait to see it at the track.

Can you please get rainbow tires AND rainbow bartape? I mean, this bike is obnoxious, but it is obnoxious in ways I have already become comfortable with because I saw it before you built it up. I am looking for new and surprising sorts of obnoxiousness.

edit: of course, rainbow tires would be a ***** to find in tubulars...hmm
edit2: oh my god too much bikeforums today...i just type asterick 5 times instead of typing *****

i was really hoping, just for kicks, that the answer to this question would be "road geometry."
