Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? High On Fire!

Holy F*CK!!!!!!
I almost forgot how good this band was 'til I dusted off "Surrounded by Thieves" and put it on the turntable. Especially track 3, "Speedwolf". ******** UNCOMPRIMISING.
I'm kind of paralyzed by riffs right now. I haven't felt this way in awhile.

Wow? Really? I saw them at Intonation a few weeks ago and they sucked big time. Some of the worst fake ass metal I've ever heard. Not even an ozzfest band.....

fake ass metal?
i do not look at matt pike or any of those dudes and get the fake metal vibe. those guys live the hessian dirthead lifestyle and have long before it was the cool thing. in my opinion they are a great band and that album is some of the best stuff they have done.

Rookie. You have no idea what you're talking about. Go buy some hooded sweatshirt metal from Buffalo. Ozzfest? You clearly have a solid grasp on what is considered "good" metal.

Dear Zurich,

Wimps and posers leave the hall.

High on Fire is more metal than you.

You have apparently never heard Motorhead.

Please never talk about metal again.

Love,
Dustin

Does Bleeding Through even deserve the title of "fake metal?"

I saw a kid (17-ish) once with "Atreyu" tattooed in cursive across his stomach... kinda felt sorry for 'em.

you win the prize! it is, indeed, Avenged Sevenfold.

Their press release says "their new record "City Of Evil" has a universal appeal: hard rocking, metal-anchored with a punk rock sensibility. "City Of Evil" manages to embrace both genres while reaching out into the hardest and most musical places a listener can go. It's no secret where the band is headed musically. Wearing their influences proudly on their tattooed arms."

I say it's pure ******baggery at it's worst.
by the way, what's the "most musical place a listener can go?"

Everybody's entitled to their opinion, if you don't like them that's fine, but they are anything but fake. The dude from HOF was in freakin SLEEP, one of the heaviest bands ever.
