Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

i love "hunted by a freak"..the "BBC sessions:government commisions" album is really good. spans from their quiet sweet songs to all out metal.......theyre the loudest band ive ever heard live.

Ah, so this thread is an exercise in identifying the lesser gods. In that case, my next contribution...

edit: give us another one that is good...doesnt look like New Track is available on such short notice.
FYI, the lyrics from the title track of "New Track" go a little bit like this:

"I want a banana, more freedom, and dance on a new track" (repeat)
[insert extended kraftwerk synth squiggles and highlife guitar jams]
"Don't give me bananas, potatoes, and yams at the same time" (repeat)
[insert extended kraftwerk synth squiggles and highlife guitar jams]

Total genius.

It's not nearly as bizarro, but this came out recently on Luaka Bop and should be pretty easy to find:

Definitely worth picking up.

Somewhat relatedly, I went to see Nacho Libre a few nights ago and there's a cover of "Bat Macumba" on the soundtrack.

The whole soundtrack is actually pretty stellar - lots of Esquivel, Mr. Loco, etc.

hmmmm...zyklon kicks a lot of ass, but so do behemoth, amon amarth, or the berzerker. who's the fastest? who's the most brutal? who's the sickest? it's a tough call, i have to say. those and others i can't think of now because i'm so braindead right now.

i dunno, seems to me like outkast just gets more and more annoying. then again, using that pattern, you might be able to take them back to a time when they weren't annoying...i don't know, though.

Maybe not as funky as some of the other albums but definately one of the best albums ever. Solid straight through. Should never be forgotten:

I also agree that The Clash - London Calling qualifies as one of the best albums ever.
