Has anyone ever done it on their bike. This picture leads me to beleive it's easier than I ever thought?

why are two people attempting to ride the same bike?

Ok, I never said I was pissed off about this. I was in the mall yesterday, and saw a poster-sized version of the ad, and last night idly browsed the AE website to see if it was reproduced there. I think its an amusing barometer of perceived "hipness" of fixies/urban bike culture, and is therefore an interesting cultural artifact that would be of relevance to this forum. I never said it was a bad thing, nor did I in fact pass any judgement on it.

Fg/SS wont catch on with younger people [13, 14, 15, 16] Whenever I am riding around school or wherever, I get bad remarks about my bike. Now if that ad was about a bmx, watch out!

I'm too old to shop at AE let alone vandalise their property. Bummer.

The world needs more hot girls on bikes.
I'm cool with that ad, simply for that reason. |

i'm glad someone else noticed this ad because i have caught myself staring at the jean guide while chillin in the dressing rooms looking at that picture trying to figure out what kinda stuff is on that bike. they do a good job of positioning the models just oh-so-right so you can't see ****. SingleSpeeDemon- i see old folks in AE quite frequently....and i'm talking 50+ old. they always come in looking for the most random things and never find what they want, grumbling and shuffling out of the store as our greeter yells out "have a great day!" in their most forced-enthusiasm tone of voice. |
I'm waiting for fixed gears to appear in shows, movies or television. hipsters too for that matter. seems movies have all types of cultures, but i havent seen hipsters yet.

SS / Fixed seems pretty darned elitist to me, tied with the weight weenie roadie hammer fest guys. Do you own bike culture? Adverts appropriate everything. It would be nice if they didn't, but I'm sure some dude who knows some guy who road a bike came up with that ad, and though it "hot". Then burned it to CD and maybe had a messenger deliver it to the corporate big wigs. Why does this culture thing come up in SS / Fixed every week or so? |

honestly, the architecture used in the backround is completely incongruous with the sexually charged fashion statement the foreground of the advertisement is conveying. Wangster is an architect. I would assume the only reason he has not yet commented on the egregiousness of this appropriation is that he is so furious he is at a loss for words.
seriously. shut the **** up. |

OH MAN! best ever, AE had a deal where if you tried on their pants you could get free movie tickets. My lady friend and I got four tickets going to different stores. <3 AE.
