Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

everything you need for a geared bike minus derailers shifters and thier associated cables and a bunch of chainrings and cogs. plus a chain tensioner possibly.

I think kingarmstrong is looking for a shopping list, to see what he has, and what he needs to get hold of... to make a fixie.

Bikes: bfssfg iro--black.

ONE complete bike MINUS some chain links, inner chainring, derailers, shifters, brakes (unless you're scared); PLUS track hub, cog and ultra-hip messenger bag (so you look cool outside the coffee shop, bar, show, et cetera).

uh, i'm not sure what you mean. i think you'll probably want a flip flop hub though if i'm understanding your question. a fixed gear doesn't let you freewheel, that means you can't coast. flip flop hubs are set up to allow you to ride fixed on one side and then flip the wheel over if you wanna ride singlespeed.

i'm not sure if i answered your question, but last time i rode a tricycle the pedals were on the front wheel, so coasting was impossible. i guess the first bike i ever rode was fixed technically.
