If all else fails, including applying heat, you can split the ring with a dremel.

Bikes: , Jury Bike, Moto Outcast 29, Spicer standard track frame and spicer custom steel sprint frame.

put the tire on the rim if you have taken it off fill it half way or so put it on a carpeted floor up against a wall where it will roll into the wall get it tight up against the wall then use both hands on the wrench and grunt a little

if it's an aluminum lockring, try a little ammonia. it will instantly disolve any aluminum oxide that formed between the threads.

otherwise try a little penetrating oil (no, not that kind) , like wd-40.

like some have suggested, make sure you're turning it clockwise to loosen it, as it is reverse threaded.

do you ever try to twist the cap off of a beer bottle backwards? your cog screws off just like a bottle cap. the lockring is just the opposite.
