Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Bikes: too damn many

srsly- you suck. you have no idea how the bike biz is run. sometimes things are out of stock and you have to go through different distributers. sometimes it takes time, especially if what you want the the same rims that around 1000 other people simultaneously want also. you're so dam cool with your deepvs, you and about 15000 other people with the same rims. sounds like superspokes gave you accurate info pertaining to your order, but you had to go over their head and waste velocity's time also. customers like you annoy me. if you want instant gratification go to mcdonalds.

i call it like i see it. i order something, i expect it within a reasonable amount of time. specialty items from across the country? ten days, sure. if something is out of stock, can i get a notice about it? apparently not from superspokes. can i get a tracking number? nope. an order confirmation? nope. a real estimate of when i can expect things to even be in stock? if you guess "no" then you're right! if you bothered to actually read anything i put down you'd know that they told me days not weeks for the order to get in and that was a little easier than what i imaging pulling teeth with pliers would be like.
excuse me if i think waiting 6 weeks and not hearing a damned thing from superspokes, no responses to my emails, no responses to my phone calls; and THEN the guy has the gall to tell me that they respond to every email and phone call they get. who's wasting who's time now? if i wanted instant gratification i could have gone down to a lbs and paid almost twice as much and then paid to ship it myself.
i thought just maybe an online retailer might have better prices, and how convenient it would be to just have them pack it up and ship it to my builder. i guess that was too hard. you know what, you're absolutely right. how dare me for wanting something and hoping to get it in a reasonable amount of time. how dare me for going over some jerk's head that outright lied to me about how long it would take to get my order. you have my humblest apologies for being more resourceful in trying to see where the hell my money went and trying to talk to someone that might give me a little more information. i dunno about you, but i get nervous when a large chunk of my cash gets tied up and i have no idea what's going on with it. if a place can't be bothered to keep me informed about the status of my order they must not need my business, so i took it elsewhere.

Do braces count? When I was a teenager I pulled off my braces with pliers and it went smoothly. Except for my parents grounding me for all of five minutes while I refused to go to the orthodontist to have them put back on. Turns out I didn't need them after all . And it wasn't as hard as you would think.. sure it bled, and I could have used pin-nosed pliers for the ones in the back, but it was well worth it.

Kids- don't get any ideas. The orthodontist said I was extremely lucky that I didn't chip a tooth. And I even used the "proper" technique that I observed when they took them off previously.

nah, braces don't count. it needs roots to count. once when i was a kid and had braces, i was playing a game we liked to call confusion ball. it involves a two chairs, a ball, and putting the ball on one of those chairs by any means neccessary. long story short, i got stiff-armed in the face and knocked a couple braces off. it doesn't hurt as much as you think it would.

Anybody contacted Superspokes lately?

Superspokes has a set of my wheels which they agreed to rebuild when they arrived incorrectly built. I sent an email to them today and it bounced. Has anybody been in contact lately? Anybody in Minneapolis that knows whether their local shop is still open?

I'd like those wheels back so any info would be appreciated.

Bikes: Check the sig to find out

i ordered a deep v rim from them that took a month and a half and still never came. They are crooked because they charged the credit card but then sent an email saying it didn't go through and to order again. i had to contact the credit card company to give the $ back and they did. SS gave the same excuses you got as well. No email responses and the only reason we spoke was because he was there at the time. when leaving phone messages they wouldn't be returned. from my experience I'd say don't mess with them cuz they are sneaky and don't like to be very clear on things.

They're crooks!
I ordered a set of tires, same thing, they charged me but the tires never shipped. They never return emails if there's a problem. After fighting for 2 months I finally got my money back, moral: don't wait past 30 days to get your credit card company to do a chargeback, and don't wait past 45 days to get PayPal to file a dispute.

STAY AWAY FROM SUPERSPOKES!!

edit*
They deserve to go out of business.
