Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Is anybody else doing the MS150 this weekend? If so, what time are you starting, and where are you planning to stay?

I'll be there!

I think me and my team members will be leaving the starting point around 6:30 or so.
We booked a hotel a few months ago. It was rediculous expensive, and apparently its find to hard vacancies.

You can find me on the black soma rush with purple grip tape.
Our team will be wearing powder blue tuxedo shirts with our team logo screen printed on the back.

I'll be riding the left side drive IRO. The three of us will have on I <3 DC (Pirates) t-shirts. We should meet up after the ride.

edit: We are staying at 4th and Reed. If you're taking the train over, we could meet up for breakfast and a train ride too. Wooo fun.

Bikes: 2002 Bianchi Pista, Cannondale R1000

I should be there with my road bike - black Cannondale R1000 with black and yellow tires. I'll be wearing a super cool yellow jersey that my company gave me and black and red shorts. The color combination might be physically painful.

I really need to read up on this a bit, because I haven't even gotten the required donations together yet. Oops! And what's with it starting in Jersey? I can't believe I need to get up early to get on PATCO.

My girlfriend & I are going, though we were too lazy/cheap to get a hotel at the shore & are going to stay at her parents' place. I'll definitely keep an eye out for the tuxedo shirts (though those'll be hard to miss).

We were planning to sleep on the beach, until one of our team members(dirtyphotons) decided he wants a bed instead. Now we're trying to find a room but OC is booked.

What tires did you get? I have a black and yellow Rubino Pro on the back and a black/black Rubino Pro on the front. I loves me them tires.

Michelin Krylion Carbons. I haven't ridden them yet, but they seem like they're going to ride pretty nice.

I'll be there on my green track bike with yellow lugs rocking a tuxedo tee.
Money is due at the start of the ride or they won't give you a number.
Good luck with housing. Sometimes you can find something once you get to Ocean City. There's a tent somewhere at the finish line that helps people out if they need housing. It's really a last chance though. There used to be an Ocean City hotel guide linked off the MS site, you could probably try getting in touch with them.

Bikes: 2003 Fuji Track Bike,Pink Univega, Mixed part BMX, Early 70's Columbia Tandem, Orange and Cream Fixed gear Pursuit bike (Puig), random bikes made from spare parts

Oh man, I wish this thread was started months ago, I would have tried to recruit all the fixed gear bikes for my team.

TEAM SCHMEAM!!!

Stet and I started the team last year and we are trying to make it bigger and bigger with more fixed gear bikes, more junkers, and more kids with powder blue Tuxedo T-Shirts. I love how last year we got to pass a lot of 5k bike riding weekend warriors in our jeans and tshirts on fixed gears. Yes, it is NOT a race, but its still fun to ride side by side with these guys (and girls).

Ryand, I work on 4th and Reed... maybe I have seen your bike parked outside?

Lazertotheface - you should be riding your tall bike!

If you see me out there, say hello and hang out! I will be on the blue track bike with the orange front tire and orange bullhorns.... or course wearing the powder blue tuxedo shirts with the Team Schmeam Logo on the back.
