Off topic: My fork has a chromed crown and dropout faces. Does this mean the entire fork is chromed beneath the paint?

So how does the new Madison ride anyway?

Keep an eye on any new chrome you have, clean and wax it often to protect it.

Anyway, the Madison is a pretty sweet ride. It is very responsive yet comfortable for long spins. I'm changing to a 1cm shorter stem and bullhorns, but other than that it's awesome. Not bad at all for $365.

As a guy I passed by once said..."hey! Bikes don't come in that color!"
...nope.
Not that removing a brand logo from a bike makes it more personal, to prevent theft, maybe, to be hip definitly, but a good paint job does.
Personalizing a bike makes it feel..more personal...you know?

My fixie is a 'Cecil Walker' frame and I've kept the simple decals ON because its blimmin gorgeous. In Australia its known as a fantastic handbuilt brand.
Its my gearie that vexes the other roadies. Its a Sachs handbuilt steel frame and is powdercoated in lime green, beautiful.

Remove the decals. Replace them with sayings to evangelize for the glory of the Flying Spaghetti Monster or something like you think Pirates are better than ninjas.
I had a neighbor that had HONDA in gold alond the side of the car, hood, bumper, and windshield. I so wanted to ask him if he was a Nascar fan.

Now take my little Honda CRX. It's bone stock with a 1.5 L engine, dented up hood, stock 13" rims with no name all season tires. Except for the Momo shift knob, it's not worth stealing! BUT the most important thing of all? I can fit my full sized fixie in the back!

I rebadged an old three-speed with a logo I created for an imagined bicycle maker. It came out awesome, so I'm re-imagining potential frames...

I just picked up an '80s bianchi limited. It's a nice maroon, and I'd like to get rid of the gaudy gold decals. Reccomended methods?
Also - products for removing tape-gunk from handlebars?

Bikes: circle a track, giordana pursuit track
i think it has to do mostly with the font. for example i have a circle a (duh) and besides not wanting to scream 'custom bike' i think their logos aren't too good looking, but the head badge rocks.
on the other hand, i have 2 other bikes with decals which i think would look bad without their decals even though they are deteriorating (one is road the other track). maybe i like the fonts, maybe it's the 2 tone paint job, or maybe late 80's italian bikes were just made with style and age well. a lot of american brands seem to have crappy logos.

not sure if this has been pointed out, or that it really needs to continued, but alot of fixies are old trash find conversions, where the paint/decals are too jacked to save, so they just get spray paint make overs. since this is the 'norm' for probably half the bikes that you see, it creats a sort of design model that alot of people wind up associating fixies with (even before they own one themselves). when they go to build their own, a stripped down frame is probably what they envisioned the whole time. i know all the cats i knew who were riding them back in 99/00 (when i was first introduced) all had debadged frames, so to me it just made sense to strip mine when i got it.
