Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Yeah, except no one would EVER steal an autistic thirty-something year old coked up on.. but then again.. who in their right mind would steal a varsity with a suicide hub.. D'oh, you're right!

Maybe it wasn't stolen?
Maybe it was just in someone's way, & because it wasn't locked up, they just moved it???
Go out & look for it!!!
Go!

Thread's derailed anyway... (or is it dutreted?)
Not anymore. I put the stock seat back on, and the stock bars in their traditional upright position, and gave it to my daughter. She likes it and it never really fit me that well. I got that bike for $3 at a yardsale, had my fun with it, and passed it on. If it had been stolen I woulda been bummed, but not heartbroken. Time to get to work on the winter bike.

I really need to get some pics of it in stock form. It looks cool that way too!

I have been thinking of ways to destroy somebody or the bike, if need be, when I find it or them. I have been thinking of just carrying a wrench with me and unscrewing the wheel nuts so that the person who stole it loses control and faceplants in the middle or the road. I have also been thinking about just carrying my extra u-lock with me so that when I do find it I can lock it up and get it later, which seems like the most sensible option. I am confident that I will find it because I live in a small town and if someone stole it to use I will eventually see it. What else could you recommend to really stick it to the other person riding my bike.

MAN REPORTS BIKE STOLEN AFTER ONLY FIVE YEARS OF BEATING THE ODDS

SMALLTOWN, USA - A man, going by the handle "slient1", had his rare, prized Schwinn Varsity stolen after only five years of beating the odds. He reports that he went out for a quick jaunt and returned to find the bicycle missing. "I came back to my apartment today and the bike is gone," says silent1, who has no idea who took it. The bicycle had never been locked up for five years, under the well known and proven fact that luck is forever.

When asked what he would do when or if he found the bike tainted bike, silent1 said, "I have been thinking of ways to destroy somebody or the bike, if need be. It really depends on how much of the theif's a*s juice is on the seat. I have been thinking of just carrying a wrench with me and unscrewing the wheel nuts so that the person who stole it loses control and faceplants in the middle or the road. Problem solved."
