I posted them because a few weeks ago, a link was posted to a some Sugino 75 doubles on Craigslist that the seller was trying to get $800 for.

Thanks for the lesson on Japanese manufacturers, though.

It just weird seeing square tapered cranks going for such large amounts of money. It is old technology and should not cost the same amount as current technology.

Well of course. Obviously this guy was crazy, and we all had a good laugh. The ones on eBay are currently at $20.50, which seems perfectly reasonable to me. No one, here or anywhere, thinks that a pair of old Sugino cranks are really worth $800.

Yeah, you're right. Now that it has scratches in the paint, it's totally useless and should never be ridden again!

so... after 2 years of daily, year round salt infested Boston riding my oxidized aluminum seatpost is now molecularly part of my rush hour's frame, and neither never really fit me. In my lack of impulse control/ Tiredness of bmx commuting 10 miles a day/ Drunken Red Sox watching weakened state, I purchased w/ the buy-it-now option of $330 w/ shipping a redone 80s lugged steel specialized allez w/ ritchey carbon fork & seatpost & campy headset & bb. Did I way overpay? Anyone ride these? Will my mavic ellipse wheels space out to 126mm? Or is this another life lesson about blowing $ that will soon be forgotten next October?

Don't worry about it. The fork goes for over $100 new, and the other components all look sound. Depending on the paint job and assembly, which looks fine, you probably paid a fair price for it. You would've paid less bidding, but you might not have won the bid. Buyer's remorse isn't worth your time.

Maybe to perfect the chainline--or ruin it.
