"WTF???" the way you paraphrase it..
but in the seller's own words, it actually makes sense: -->

"originally a freewheel road hub, axle was cut down for 120mm rear spacing"

or if you want to run it in your pre-70's 120mm spaced road frame?
120mm was 5-speed spacing. it's not exclusive to track bikes ya know.

rossin track 53 $600

That's not a track bike. Track bikes have track ends. You typically can not use a conversion on a velodrome. That said, that frame is gnarly. And the wheelset is probably worth it for the price.

Also, not a Dura-Ace track crank, so don't be fooled.

I think that lots of people are genuinely confused, and they think that the phrase "track bike" is a synonym for "fixed gear." Of course, it's not.

This thing is amazing:

I thought it was pronounced "Buffala," not buffalo. As in "buffala mozzarella per favore."

Yes, that is what you way it is and it deserves to be on a museum bike. Nice.

mozzarella di bufala is called that because it's a female buffalo that produces the milk. Unless the buffalo that made the leather was a girl, it's probably bufalo.

40x14 09-13-07 09:58 PM

whatd'ya wanna bet that it goes for $200, no matter whether the buffalo was male or female.

JellyMeetsJam 09-13-07 11:01 PM

Probably a safe bet.
