This could be a good buy... It actually looks like a nice ride, I am not familiar with these frames so i don't know if the seat post clamp is an easy fix or not...

can i get a quick opinion about this bike. Whether or not it is a good bike and price for something worth converting to a fixie?

jabikuta 04-08-08 04:34 PM

I personally wouldn't want to convert it. It looks too nice as is.

jhota 04-08-08 05:00 PM

i think it's older than the seller has stated. 6-speed freewheels, 27 inch wheels, non-aero brake levers and stem-mounted shifters were all on the way out or gone by the mid-80s. the combination of all of these items on the bike makes me think it's a late 70s or early 80s model.

still pretty, and i wouldn't convert it either.

Why is the fork missing? I'd be suspicious it has been crashed.

Maybe $650 is too much to pay for a Stratos frameset (with Hatta BB and HS), but I would save $100 on shipping from Japan or whatever, and it's my size with no dings or dents...

Thoughts?

He's also got a slightly larger Vivalo up as well

$250 Gang green pista frameset

Here is a "sweet" "track" frame.

I have no idea what this thing is, but it is single speed and went cheap.

the wheelset itself might be worth buying this and selling off the rest of the parts.

sherief 04-11-08 08:21 AM

The frame's nice too. Those old steel trek's are great. I'd slap hell of gears on it. But 390 is still on the high end for all that.

This bike looks like it would fit me well. Do you think it's worth the 75.00? Does anyone know what model this is?

Thanks

Eric

That post and picture tells me so little about that bike I can't figure out why/how you think it would fit you well or even consider it as an option. There has got to be so many more bikes that could interest you besides this one, i mean seriously....

...oh wait you were joking right?

eogie 04-11-08 10:39 AM

You're a tough customer....or maybe just a dick?

I don't know much about bikes. It looks like a big frame. I'm a big guy. I don't come across vintage frames that often. Just looking for a little help. If you can't help then don't say anything. You must be stressed out a lot if little things like that bother you so much.

Thanks.

Eric

53 Cinellii Olympic at a reasonable price in Colorado. I wish I had the jingle...always likes these and it's my size.
