$5 seatpost for a $5 ass????

I will pay top dollar for seatpost. Campy Ti or Carbon on the Italian jobs and $120 Nittos on the Japanese job. There is no reason to spend a ton of money on a ride and then totally flake out on the seatpost. A seatpost is just as good of a investment as anything else.

I scored a great carbon seatpost for 30$CDN and it has made a huge difference in the feel of the ride. Best dollar to comfort ratio on any bike part I have purchased.

did you get the campy ti one yet?

br995 12-24-06 09:39 PM

I debated whether or not to get these, but I need a new bike before I get new wheels.

So, act fast: Phil front (BIN), Phil 48 rear (BIN)

But, you can get em for the same price or less with a normal number of holes, *new*... Almost bought a rear 36h for 118... but got something else.

br995 12-24-06 10:15 PM

I actually only thought about the front. Yeah, the price is close, but it's about $20 cheaper than what I usually see.

And I figure the rear is harder to find with that number of holes and might appeal to someone (not sure why you'd want 48 spokes, but someone obviously buys 'em).

jacobpriest 12-24-06 10:21 PM

That'd be a heavy ass wheel....

onetwentyeight 12-25-06 02:47 AM

48 vs 36 would only add about 150g. no big deal. the hard part would be finding the rim.

Thought this was craigslist and ebay postings? You have to leaf through a pile of discussions to see one post that was on ebay. If you want to discuss seat posts and a host of other crap, why don't you post it on the regular forum? I see now why it took so long for the ebay/craigslist to be a sticky. I think I will just post my finds with a title and not bother with this thread. Way too much crap.

Merry Christmas.

i have a campy 40h pista hub laced to a velocity dyad tandem rim (i beleive its 24mm)...
it still needs to be all tensioned up and trued though.

I want to see a pic of this, it sounds pretty cool. What would be more bombproof than a 40h deep V?

Yeah, I saw this as well as a bunch of that seller's other fixed-gear stuff that has "bumps" on it, such as this Shamal wheel and his Bianchi track fork. He also is selling a damaged track frame which appears to have been smacked pretty hard in the front as the downtube and toptube have squwooshed together a lot. Keep that in mind when/if someone here buys that wheel, there is a pretty good chance that it has been in an accident.

50 CM track bike not a Derosa.

I saw this over the holiday then took a closer look today. Although it is a nice bike, I am pretty sure that it is not a Derosa.

Wouldn't a Derosa have the engravings in the seatstays, the bottom bracket shell, and the fork crown? The seller says it is not the original fork but the fact that the fork is an exact color match with the rest of the bike says to me that this bike is a repaint, and decals have been applied over something other than a Derosa. Too bad.

Not necessarily. My De Rosa only has the seatstay cap engravings, nothing in the fork crown or the BB shell (other than a serial.) I agree though, that this is likely not a De Rosa (primarily because of the lugging and the stays, though.) The other De Rosas I've seen have sometimes had engraving in the fork crown, but I've never seen BB shell engraving.
