bidding is close to 600$...what's the back story for this post???

onetwentyeight 02-19-07 04:49 PM

french diameter + japanese c ollectors obsessed with vintage bikes. at least thats my guess. i have the same post in 27.

stendhalian 02-19-07 04:57 PM

hey thanks, 128. you'd think it was spun from platinum at that price...

its raining and cold and windy today, i booked off work. there's not many trips on a monday anyway...
so i'll spend money i didnt make today on bike stuff instead.

onetwentyeight 02-19-07 05:21 PM

wish i had money to burn! there is always so much I want...

coelcanth 02-19-07 05:23 PM

that is a Very Early campy post and it is NOS in it's matching box..
yours is probably not the same version.. look closely at the machining of the clamp area where it meets the post as well as the cradle parts..

It's vintage in the same way a varsity with a cog screwed onto the freewheel hub is a "TRACK BIKE".

Ebay is not like the world we inhabit.

haha. this is the funniest **** i've read all day.

That was the first seatpost intoduced by Camapagnolo, the box is huge rare. The main difference with the common Nuovo Record and early Gran Sport is that the top part is hollow, and is high shine chrome. I had one of these on my 1959 Simplex Juy Crescent Bike, very cool stuff!

Any bets on what this will go for?
