do i have to be a regular poster to +1 the risers for wheelies?

i just switched to risers last week (giving them a try, and so far loving them for urban riding) and the temptation to try wheelies again was too much - this afternoon i definitely rode the longest wheelie of my life (not very long at all, mind you) down my street as pedestrians gawked (laughed) at me.

then i nearly fell off backwards and ruined the look of the whole thing. d'oh!

Jesus... Have any of you ever been to Brooklyn? There are 12-year-old kids who will wheelie their ****ty BMX bikes from Atlantic to Flushing - about 60 times further than Mr. Youtube there.

No one else noticed jacobpriest switched bikes?

Sammyboy 10-12-06 03:06 AM

Kyle, is that wheelie-ninjutsu you're doing in that 3rd pic? If not, could we HAVE some wheelie-ninjutsu?

Learn_not2burn 10-12-06 07:45 AM

Anyone else seen the video with this guy talking about being the wheelier master? He rides his bike without a front wheel, and can ride them no hands forever.

killsurfcity 10-12-06 12:23 PM

+1 to the packs of wheelie kids in the ghetto. i see packs of like 8 kids all wheelieing down the middle of the street from time to time. i swear some of them never put their front wheel down.

TRaffic Jammer 10-12-06 12:31 PM

I think it's a kid thing I could wheelie forever when I was like 8, now I'm lucky if I can make it across the intersection. Ok MTB, SS/track bike, road/cross...now wheelie machine

I see it all of the time too and their bikes are always way too small for them as well.

rodny71 10-12-06 12:56 PM

i knew a kid in brooklyn that would intentionally losen his front wheel and when he started the wheelie his front wheel would fly off and he would just wheelie forever.

ryand 10-12-06 01:07 PM

is it creepy if i want to set this as my desktop image at work?

baldylocks 10-12-06 01:08 PM

yes, but good creepy.

baldylocks 10-12-06 01:09 PM

Some BMX kids totally made fun of me and ryand last night for doing wheelies.

ryand 10-12-06 01:11 PM

um... you mean trying to do wheelies?

i want juvi's permission to be a creep before i post that on the desktop.

if he says yes, i'm gonna get the funniest looks when people swing by my cube.

Your wife is right. Although, it could just be because proportionately the same size looks bigger on a smaller frame.

Kind of like how mine looks HUGE in little kids' hands.
