Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? halloween costumes...

what are you going to be?

i'm sure 95% of you are just going to wear your everyday clothes and put a little fake blood on your face and call yourself a "dead messenger" or "the messenger of death" or something of the sorts. That's what i'm doing, it's easier than spending money.

Bikes: IRO Angus; Casati Gold Line; Redline 925; '72 Schwinn Olympic Paramount

1/5th of the Village People.

It's a group costume, and we couldn't find a 6th person.

Swan, from the warriors.
apparently i look just like him anyway, so i'll just take off my shirt and put on a vest with 'warriors' written across the back.
i'm a fan of convenience.

My Halloween costume isn't bike-friendly, so I was just wearing regular clothes at the Halloween CM.

Anyway, my costume is a hop cone (hops like in beer). That **** was hard to make, son.

This is me in 2004; all the kids on my street loved it so much that I think I will do it again this year.

P.S. it is kinda meant to be ghetto, inside joke on my street

I was a mormon. Pretty suiting for bike riding! I'll get some pics of it tommorow; at least cops didn't give me a second look while riding drunk as hell. Chuch of latter day satanists, my god trumps your god...

Bikes: several. blue. fun.

just don't go as a mummy and then ride your bike. ask tink27 about it. he sorta had a rough time with that costume last year. i bet some of it is still stuck around his rear hub.

Bikes: windsor hour, fly bikes pantera, custom lowrider, hoffman ep flatland bike, eastern hercules.

This was my costume. I was Elliott from ET. ET had the sign during the critical mass bike ride and i rode my chrome bmx. Then later that night i strapped him to my fix and rode to work. Then at work,i strapped him to my pedicab and wore that as a costume all weekend while pedicabbing.

I always make costumes out of things I have lying around.

This year's costumes have been:

water polo player. speedo, ball, cap, stunning physique.
surfer. wetsuit, board, zinc oxide (actual stuff lifeguards/spicolis use. doesn't end up looking like semen a la above spicoli costume).
arab shiek. classic costume, given that i'm brown and know how to fly, yet not land, planes.

I gotta come up with something fresh for tonight and tuesday.

I was a Red-Headed Stepchild. I'm a natural redhead, so all I needed was some makeup for a black eye to complete the costume.
