Last summer when I was at a university course in Grenoble our favorite game when we were drunk or bored was to stand around in the parking lot and 'bowl' abandoned bike wheels to eachother at increasing distances. It was pretty fun but you'd always end up with punctures if you got too into it. Thats the only time I've actually attempted to true a wheel with a fork (it worked too). If you didn't keep truing the wheels they would roll really badly. Rear wheels kinda sucked too (didn't have a cassette remover!) A few of our rolls seemed like they would never stop and they didn't have an engine!
