Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I was wondering about this too so I googled the guy--says he's 6'7". That + 190mm cranks + super high bb to allow clearance for said cranks = insanely high seat i guess.

PS the fork on that bike is stupid hot.

the guy in that picture is not the guy, it was posted as a joke. the picture onetwentyeight posted is the guy who rides that bike on what looks like that bike.

Bikes: How'd I get this many?

That is an interesting frame in the pic posted by 128. What is going on with the seat tube and seat stays - what is that extra bar in there? Part of the frame, like a stabilizer tube?

I wish I had spokeless wheels like him

They are frame reinforcements to make it stiffer. They are part of the frame.

i need to take pics now that it's built up--though it's a 9-speed at the moment.
i'll build a fixed wheelset for it after the holidays.

Sick frame, but is that a derauiler hanger on the track ends? Regardless, what's that for?

it's built up with a track crank and presently has a 9 speed cassette in the rear--and, obviously, a derailleur (hanging from the derailleur hanger). but, like i mentioned above, i'll be building up a fixed wheelset for it as well. yamaguchi built me a special chain watcher that can be mounted when it's in geared mode. for now i'm only using the 17t-12t cogs on the cassette though, so i won't be using the watcher til it's appropriate.

i also still need to dial a few things in on it.
