looking at the drivetrain buro9 is right... the "stairs" would have to be turning counterclockwise (the rungs climbing in the back of the loop)
however... a neat feature is the left side... with a normal freewheeled hub turned left side drive, and no derailuer... REVERSE!
that thing is dumb in ways i cant fathom... and yet...

There are no situations for which it is practical anymore track or no.... However under any normal riding the stems would be unlikely to hit the ht.
