fender questions...
After doing some research on fenders, I still have a couple more questions. Anyone know if coverage is different on the SpeedEZ vs. the Hardcore? I saw a bike today with some SpeedEZ and it looked like they may have been altered. Both fenders started directly behind the brakes as if the coverage in front was chopped off. Can anyone comment on this?
Also, anyone know if one rattles more than the other?
Anyone think these suck completely and recommend another brand? SKS??
Thanks!

I have the SKS Chromoplastics to replace my broke-ass ones from last year. They are silver, narrow, and the attachment hardware is Allen bolts, which is a winner with me. I love them so far.

I have those on my commuter. I'm not a huge fan, although they do the job. They were a total pain in the ass to install. Despite my best efforts, I ended up losing 3 or so of the nuts that secure the fender at the top. Next time I'll probably snag the planet bike ones.

Bolt-ons rattle plenty but they stay put and therefore rub your tire less. For a conversion, get bolt-ons. For track ends get something easily removeable.

I have the sks with the stay quick release things on the rear. The stay quick release is supposed to be a safety feature on the front that releases the guard if something gets sucked up between the tyre and guard.
Used on the rear with rear facing track ends means you can remove the wheel without unbolting the mudguard.
