Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Isn't it weird to think he is famous now. He was credited as Mathew Lindt in that not Mathew Lillard.
Oh and I already mentioned that they show it.

my first board was a worn out JFA.

My first real board (new) was a McGill.

My favourite old school board.

I need to pick up a new deck, mine was stolen along with my car. Miss the board, not so much the car.

i used to rock the pants (& shorts), only in black & white from merry-go-round. i found a pair of nike shorts that look exactly the same a few years ago & had to get them. i wear them around a lot & think of my skidz each time their on my hind end. elastic botttomz ftw.

oh, i wouldn't even think about forgetting vsw! i brought them up in the jason lee thread, & know that they're still in (limited) production. as soon as i can find a local dealer (to make sure i get the right size) i'm rocking a pair with a matching white shirt with the obscenely big logo on both sides.

Now that I think about it, I think the seeds to my current track bike obsessiveness was echoed in my skating days... planning the next trucks, wheels, deck, etc. It makes me nostalgic to think of when $100 was enough to buy a complete setup and not, like, a hub. I guess the traditions of fancy color schemes and knee damage are hard to break.
First deck - Santa Cruz "psychotic" (the evil eyes with psychedelic background... can't find a pic. NOS was good to me even then).
Fav deck: Schmitt Stix Andy Howell
