I had the same problem with my Team Pro. Might need a fancier seat pin.

Yeah one bolt seatposts have pretty grainy "resolution". A two bolt design will have far finer adjustability I think.

Bikes: lots

Put some cranks on the bike and ride it 10+ miles. Kinda hard to figure position while static

you are right and i wish i could. i am building this bike one piece at a time. that is all my wallet can handle. hehe.

the thing that is driving me insane right now though is why can't i tilt the nose down. it doesn't seem right. i should be able to tilt it farther down than that, right?

frame geometry maybe?

are brooks saddles suppose to tilt upwards?

arrrgghh!

thanks for the replies and keep em coming....

new brooks are actually more comfortable titled upwards (at least thats what ive observed), as it takes a while for them to contour to your sit bones, and an upward tilt keeps the rear end of the non broken in brooks relatively parallel with the gorund. if you cant get it level, yea, you might want a seat post that gives you more range of tilt. I have a campy super record that works well. I havent any experience with the aero ones like you have (if my eyes serve me well), so i cant comment on their functionality.

i had the exact same problem with a b17 narrow on a campy aero seatpost. it looked nice but i sucked it up and bought a thomson, which allows you to put it more than level if needed. but like everyone else mentioned, it is common to begin with the saddle tilted back to break in and also not to slide down on a fresh brooks. my only problem with the tilt in my still fresh brooks is when i'm in the drops it aint too comfy for down there.

Change the seat post.I have a Thomson with mine and it works perfectly.
Two issues
1. I like my Brooks level or down in front (it's a brand new Swallow) I think that's personal taste
2. If using a Thomson post the front part where the bolt attaches sits up a little high and on mine and some others I've heard about, it contacts the underside of the saddle. I modified my Thomson post and it works perfectly so if you need me to show you pics or explain it let me know.

woohoo!!!! problem solved: i might get some negative responses for this, but f@#k it, it worked for me. i took a round file and shaved off a millimeter or two on the side of the hole where the bolt slides into, so that i could tilt the clamps to my desired angle. lord and behold, it worked.

it doesn't look like i compromised the structural integrity of the seatpost. again, i only shaved off a couple of millimeters off to make the hole longer.

i actually have the nose slightly tilted downwards.

thanks for all your responses. it was reassuring that i wasn't that only one that ran into this problem.
