Bikes: 2004 titus switchblade, '96 marin rocky ridge ht ss; '91 marin rocky ridge ht (soon to be fully rigid); 2006 motobecane grand sprint; '06 bianchi pista; '83 (?) haro freestyler - neon green.
h-bars for fixed?
anyone running these for fixed? they make perfect sense for mtb ss riding and was wondering if anyone in areas with lots of climbs are running them on their fixed bikes.

or the new budget titec riser version...

the width would absolutely help with climbing; the front 'bar ends' section for tucks; so many hand positions to choose from. probably horrible for tight city rides though.
thoughts?

Unless Titec brought the h-bars back, good luck finding a pair. I've wanted a pair for my Surly 1x1, but the actual Jeff Jones are a little pricey for my taste.
Risers with bar ends on my convesion make for some comfy riding, could only imagine if I actually had some Hbars.

I looked on Universal Cycles site where the pic came from, and there is apparently a 25.4 version as well, but both are out of stock, so who knows if these are even really available.
No really, who knows? because I'd like to know.
Anyway, in either size you still need a stem with a removable face plate

Edit: better yet do a price smash, with the 53 bucks at universal, on the CBO site and you'll get them for like $50.

i'd think they'd be a little wide (like wider than any road bar out there).
the thing with normal riser bars is you can just trim the ends; well it's pretty easy to see why that isn't possible here.
i'd try those titecs but so far i am happy with straight up normal riserbars (plus i can cut them down a little to fit between cars).

Why is everyone selling the 31.8mm bars cheaper than the 25.4 bars? Seems kind of odd.
Edit: I think I would like them, but wonder if they are really any different in terms of hand positions than the steel Wald Touring bars (#8095). Those are like the bars you find on old upright frumpy 3-speeds.

and my crappy elbows.
For city riding w/ a fixie, I think they'll be absurdly wide. And, there isn't a bunch of room
for cutting them down (due to the shape).

The more I look at these the more I want to get them and do something totally ******** to them. Chop off the outer section, run them totally backwards, put MTB ends on the inner bit, get old add-a-drop extensions, something awesome.
