My hat size is 7 5/8 and the pace caps work fine for me. I hope your head isn't too much bigger than that, because I feel like I have a melon.

i wear a 7 3/4 fitted hat and the only cycling caps i've been able to wear without it looking like a swim cap were the rapha ones. for the price, the quality's there, so its worth it.

My only intact cycling cap is by Headsweats. All my others have the brim detaching at on one side.

Hat size is between 7 3/4 and 7 7/8 based off of trying on fitted Astro's hats. L/XL flexifit hats are snug. Do y'all think the pace hats go that large?

I've felt the same way. My wife is always there to remind me. When looking for a pair of sunglasses, she suggested the Oakley Gascans, cuz they fit my large head.

Mine is about 8 1/8.

We're talking about "one-size" hats here, so they're going to fit almost noone correctly. Sure, you can make the circumference stretch, but for me, it's as much about the depth of the hat. Even if something fits around my head it's often just perched on top, looking like a beanie. I typically don't even pay attention to hats anymore since none of them fit.

I have contacted both of the aforementioned people though just out of curiosity. Didn't get far enough along to enquire about pricing.

Agreed. I've got an orange Campy hat made by Kucharik that fits my big head nicely.

Pace=awful.

will check out kucharik. thanks.

AND... i contacted walz a few weeks ago, and they said they're stepping up the size of their hats to a larger size... but in the meantime if you want one larger just e-mail them the request, or put it on the order. they'll have to make it custom for you so it'll be a little longer than an off the peg cap, but it'll be worth it.

i'd also recommend a Walz. Or, you could go try some on before you buy them at your LBS.

Just received my cap from walz, very good quality, highly recommended... but strangely, the cap smelled like cigarette smoke... kinda gross, but a bit of fabreeze took care of it.

how are their cotton caps for summer use? I'm looking for something to wear under my helmet, so I don't have to put on a hat to cover up the helmet-hair when I get to wherever I'm going.
