i got it for riding an orange bike, ****ing OSU students don't know anything other than red and grey. but anyway, good job on keeping it cool, it's hard for me sometimes. last occasion ****ers followed me for a good half mile, trying to run me off the road and convince me pink shirts and popped collers are much cooler.

I'm frequently amazed at the stories of aggressive behaviour I read here and in the commuting forum. I seriously just don't see any of that here in the UK. I don't ride in London often, but when I do, I also don't see it there. Perhaps I'm just lucky?

Pick up trucks, drunk college students, women on cell phones driving Excursions (huge SUVs) and the list goes on. I would love to ride around Europe on a bike and blend in better.
I will say, I do not take any crap from people. I ride by a very urban high school close by quite often and have had some students want to try and scare me while riding. They soon back down as I pick up speed and look them in the eye and ride towards them with meaning. I will indeed hit them if they don't move, because I really don't give a **** what happens. Maybe they know it when I look at them?
Better to keep your cool though. I wish I could, but I don't. Only back down once when a guy told me he was going to run me over with his car. I was run up on by some guy once at a stop sign. He hit my rear tire while I was waiting to cross the street at a stop sign. This was in a black neighborhood and all the people on the side of the street told the driver not to do that. I just calmly turned around and looked at him in the eye and then turned back around. Once again, I was in no mood and really didn't care what happened. Probably not a good idea. Some days if you are in a bad enough mood, it is hard to just back down, but it would be the smart thing to do.

Back to the op, if you had done anything you would be mader as a fight would have ensued. I had drunken prick try and put me off the other day. I was riding towards a crossing (I had green) and three guys ranout with out looking, two ran out of the way and one tried to play chicken and was waving his can around. I was very calm (which is not me usually!) and just kept on rinding then for some reason as I passed him ans he jumped out of the way I ninja like grabed his can of beer and through it on the floor, I didn't look back but I could hear his mates laughing at him.
It was split second thing that I did not even think about, most unlike my normal self.

Hey, I was a drunk ped in Blacksburg many times in the late 70's - had a great 4+ years there. I certainly don't condone your ped's actions. My bike made the trip back and forth to the New River many times, and also a loop N around B'Burg towards Salem. Nice hills around there. Do they still run the team race around the drillfield in the spring?

I had a snowball thrown at me a few days ago, I heard the characteristic "piffffffff" of it about 20 feet behind me. I said, "nice throw *****" and then they proceeded to call me a "effing Biztch" (-the z) I was not impressed with that comeback...

How can the average be "really low"? By definition "the average" is average. Wouldn't "really low" constitute one or two standard deviations below that?

i may have told this li'l ditty before but back in my runnin' days, a bud of mine was runnin' here outside boston and this dude threw a cup of somethin' at him and when the dude stopped for a stoplight, my boy jumps up on the hood, drops trou and takes a **** on the windshield, and runs off. dude's girlfriend was in the passenger seat and about passed out from the shock. my boy was pretty close to home so he could go tidy up quick.

heheh what? I just told him to piss off and he waddled away. Drunks are angry people.

As I get to the first intersection I realize that I'm going to have to trackstand while an entire crowd of drunk fraternity types pass by (the light was still red). One of the ****ers stops and stares for just a second before waddling up to my face; getting as close as he can. I can smell the cheap vodka and bad cologne as he claps his hands an inch from my nose in an attempt to simultaneously make me lose balance, my tempter, and prove the massive size of his cock.
I sat there so dumb struck, staring him down from where I still held my balance, tempted more than ever to just spit right into that **** eating grin-- the crowd moved on and his attention quickly wandered to some barely clothed woman shivering from the cold. I've never been so enraged that I just froze-- his action defied any normal confrontation I have ever experienced.
Downtown Blacksburg can be a real **** show some weekends.

Sometimes when folks get in the way, not paying any attention at all as they gab on a cell phone and walk along with their fat asses taking up half the path, it's soooooooooo tempting to clip their shins with my pegs ('cause I BMX)
