Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I use the completely overkill Speedplay Zero track edition pedals. You can barely clip into them without slamming your foot down, so getting out proves to be its own challenge. The only reason you should pull out of your pedal accidentally is if your cleat is worn (a real concern) or if you're pedaling as if you want to pull out (side to side motions). I've had Ken at MTV tell me to NEVER use look pedals/cleats because they wear deceivingly quickly. No biggie, I've always hated the chunkiness of them anyway and have only used SPD-SLs and Speedplays.

Thor Hushvod rides Looks and he is one of the best sprinter on the road. He is stronger than anyone on this forum and if he pulls out of the pedal its because either he did something wrong or the pedal is defective.
+1

Also, umm, maybe post this thread in the track forum? They might know more about what you need on the track.

Jobst Brandt knows wheels, not pedals. Or, maybe he does. But what works for pros with precision fitted bikes does not always work for mortals.
