Is this scene so new...

nothing wrong with bikes being fun - and everyone's sense of fun is different.
undeniable.
I would really love to see the kids running tricks and stuff get out to the velo - I know there are some fast ones in these groups - I've seen some of them ride.
Don't bring the "bike jocks are still jocks" crap out either. that is just elitism used to defeat elitism. skills are skills.
keep the fun going.

I was just hoping that this would turn into one of those, "photoshop the guy into" threads. At least that would make it more entertaining and less of a moot point. Think of the potential.

Why would you do tricks like that wall ride and tailwhip on a road bike when you can do it better on a BMX and without the extraordinary risk of ruining your wheels and frame and pretty much all your components every time you do it? Hell, do it on a single speed mountain bike...
You really can't convince me that there's any advantage to doing bmx tricks on your road bike.

I'm not debating fun. Hey, man playing H.O.R.S.E. on BMX bike with Old School tricks only is FUN and not RAD.
Also, I'm a big fan of BMX flatland. I hated to see it get cut from Xgames. I was one of the photographers to try to keep it in the mags. Do you know that RIDE BMX only has 2 flatland covers...ever?
This is RAD:
Kevin Jones:

Stephan Cerra

Pete Brandt (SF)

Koji Kraft

Koji Kraft

The day fixies get to that point...I'll eat my hat.

Blender: Feet on pedals, hands on front pegs, pedaling and gyrating in a tight, fast circle. I think that guy did this in Quicksilver on a fixie.
