Clipless pedals with flats?

so, there are some pedals that i'm considering for my ride. i like these ones with a clipless side and flats on the other. does anyone have an experience with this sort of thing, or know a place to get a better/cheaper pair than nashbar?

Everyone says those pedals are the worst of both worlds. I would be concerned about striking the corner of the platform when you're cornering (esp. because it has those little teeth that hang down when you're riding the clipless side), although I guess you could cut that section off if you wanted to.

pointless, i own a set, and I never use the flats. Just get regular SPD pedals and call it a day. Also, those come with the ****ty silver spd cleats that can pull straight out.

I ride Crank Bros mallets. I like them a lot. May want to consider the Candies (sp) also.

I have the Shimanos like that on a geared bike & rarely use the platform side, but it's nice if a bikeless friend wants to ride with. If we are talking about fixed, it would be a pain in the ass to stop with out some kind of pedal restraint. Without coasting ability, a double sided clipless pedal can save a couple seconds of fumbling.

i have em on a road bike. like others have said, not the greatest of either world, but they do what they're designed to.

unless price is a big sticking point, i think the time atac z's may be worth the extra cost.

Bikes: Surly Steamroller, IRO Groupbuy, Trek 520, plus a bunch of homebrews

Never tried them on a fixed gear, don't think I would want to. Also don't get the nashbar ones, they are truly peices of crap. First if you ride shoes with a recessed cleat like I do, you have to file away the tabs so you can get the cleats to engage. Second, I broke mine after only a month of riding. The cages snapped.
