Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

well, pursuit geometry anyway, if not fixed...
dunno if this was covered in the previous post. i couldn't bring myself to wade through all the whining, but i thought this was bizarre enough to post here.
enjoy.

i just clicked on the comment thing and apparently a number of bmx companies made these (haro, hutch, schwinn) and their intended use is RACING AROUND PARKING LOTS, diy velodrome style. who knew?

the risers/disc/pursuit geometry combo was too much to pass up...

GPVs were downhill machines, right? no drivetrain at all? sometimes modded upside-down bmx frames?

i seem to remember an article about martin aparijo and josh white and those guys being really into it...

I always thought it was a joke (GPV's). I saw an article in Freestylin' or BMX action or something.

i can see bmxers making their own custom gpvs to mess around with on the weekend, but the formula 1 stuff seems weird. several different companies with their own lines of pursuit mtbs for racing around parking lots? anyone know if it had a name?

not very fixed/ss related, but there doesn't seem to be a mtb funnybike forum around here.
