colored tires

Rivendells speedblend tires are groovy....oh! wait, they are 32mm wide in 700c! Hey if they fit, they change colors at different speeds.

Would a Vittoria Rubino / Pro hold up to skids on a daily basis for say, a few months?

that depends entirely on how you ride your bike.

A week or so ago we got a lot of rain and I went out and laid down a couple block long skids after it stopped (the streets were still really wet) and I was very disappointed to find a nearly bald tire the next morning, and I rarely skid. This was on the red speediums. Well, maybe it's not nearly bald, but it's noticably worn after just one night of wet street skidding, and that's with 17 skid patches. Everwears are next ftw.

Like what? Examples/stories please. I have been riding on them front and back for a month and seem to be doing just fine.

I have a rubino pro up front and a rando in the back and I can skid for months without wearing through the tred, and once I do the tires are ~$15 to replace. just run a colored one up front

i find the rubino's to be way too soft for brakeless. I used to burn through those like crazy. The best tire i ever had was the vittoria zaffiro, rode it on the back ALL winter AND fall and never wore through it. They do come in colors but r hard to find. Wicked tires.

Too bad the sidewalls are black. Id like to have some all colored tires. Not many choices there.

Vredstein Fortezzas. They come in a nice shade of blue, relatively inexpensive at Performance, and seem pretty durable. The only downside is that I've only been able to find them in 23mm and I'd prefer 25.

Thanks for the tip, I'll have to try Fortezza's next (and $22 seems like a steal if they actually last).

Anyone know where to find Brown tires? All gatorskins have brown side walls?

Bikes: tirove

i'm on speediums... they're somewhat unresponsive but they're great in the rain (for a training sporty tire), and they last pretty well...

the only ones that are ten bucks though seem to be the red ones, and i guess that's just because they made so damn many of them.
