So I was stomping away from a traffic light the other night and my BB spindal snaps and the pedals drag. At first I thought I broke a spoke and the rear wheel's dragging. But both my cranks are pointing straight ahead. There's no limping this one home. Call the hook. Get home and tear it down. See photo. Damn. That's OK. I've got a spare. But it's only 108 mm wide. It won't work with my MTB hub 8 speed commuter rear wheel. But it will work with the Novatec SS MTB hub. Oh well, I guess it's time to single speed it to work and back until I find a screaming deal on a 113 ISIS BB. At least it wasn't the fancy carbon cranks I've been beating the crap out of for 3 years.

Yep, you're a straight out monster. When things like this happen to me, I make a mental note to show up for the next Olympic trials for track sprinters.

So I sent an e-mail off to FSA concerning my broken BB. They said to get back to them with my purchase date, reciept - all the usual crop - to get a warranty claim number. I replied and told them that I didn't have a reciept, and that that I'd bought it on e-bay, and couldn't be exactly sure when that was, but that it sure looked like it had never been used when I got it.
Long story short: they gave me a number anyway and told me to mail the broken BB in. They wouldn't make any promises, but perhaps I could get a discount an a new BB. They sent me a new one in about a week. Sweet. Nice to know they were willing to stand by their stuff, even if I wasn't able to dot all my I's and cross all my T's.

Hell of customer service. They could make antigravity quantum components out of clouds and magic, but this story right here is what would sell their products.Originally Posted by Bottomfeeder
