Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Bikes: Azuki Single Speed, Austro-Daimler Fixed gear, Windsor Hour Fixed, Iro Jamie Roy frameset, Schwinn Moab 2, lots of old bmx bikes from walmart and stuff when i was younger.

How do you pronounce IRO?

3-Rensho thread got me thinking.

Seriously. I've heard Ear-Roh, Eye-Are-Oh, Eye-Roh, of course I.R.O, and much more.
For clarification, so there can be a standard, whats the right way?
Especially hearing all about the group buy in real-non-internet conversations...IRO ten different ways gets frustrating. And when people talk about my Jamie Roy, oh man.

good. if Tony says it then its right. thats how i've been pronouncing all the while, so i feel reassured. I've called Tony in the past but I didn't catch his phone greeting.

Yeah, really. It's not like Tony went and changed it or put one of those cute ^ over the O.

Isn't "IRO" Tony's HAM radio or CB (not sure which) handle?

allow me to point out that the thread's purpose was served and the information requested was provided. Then all you scene hornets decided to swarm in and make oh-so-hilarious jokes about nothing. Yay you!
You win at forums!

it is funny to a point.

once a thread turns into what that thread did, it is over. PM any other mod with your complaint. Let us know how it goes.

Relatedly... what is up with the IRO site? It was looking for nice for a while, and now it's falling apart like the Zimbabwean economy.
