Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I've never seen the point of risers in general and think cut off bars are stupid as **** is that close enough?

They work just fine on my mountain bike. Putting them on any kind of road bike, I just don't understand. They're not as comfortable as North Road bars, they don't have as many position as drops or bullhorns, and they don't allow you to get in an aero position. I guess I'm just not hip enough to appreciate them.

Bikes: yes

while there's not exactly a shortage of space on the internet, do you have to post a thread with such drivel? i think risers are silly, particularly when paired with deep drop stems, but do you have to care so much and be so negative?

Bikes: a bunch.

I like them for just cruising around, but I giggle when I see people doing match sprints on them.

speaking of which, can we pinpoint the first one to put risers on a track bike? I think the first I remember seeing was shants... although I doubt he was actually the first... just the first I remember.

hey, everyone do one thing, until everything is super homogenized and then one of us will be a revolutionary genius and go completely against it. THEN, we'll all slowly follow them until things are homogenized again and we'll start all over. AND we'll do all of this with total disregard for what actually feels right!

hey... you guys started without me, NO FAIR!

Bikes: Independent Fabrication Deluxe XT, Club Fuji Dura Ace... Specialized Stump Jumper, Trek 930, Cannondale M300... who knows what the cat will drag in next?

The look where they put risers on deep stems is STUPID AS HELL.
