Pretty darn close; I have Sugino 75 Cranks and 46 t Chainring, Sugino 68 BB, 3/32" 19t EAI COG, and D.I.D. Chain. I can hear the links in the chain hitting the cog, but you cannot be completely silent.

Yes. Sugino rd2 cranks w/ matching bottom bracket (68x103); cheapo chainring on outside of spider. formula hubs, soma cog, dura ace lockring.

My drive train only makes noise when its really dirty and in need of oil--otherwise it is silent like ninja.

A silent chain is awesome. Once you've had it, a noisy chain just isn't acceptable. i am putting sugino75s w/ the sugino75 BB package on mine now. I chose them because of all the hubub on this board and the loyalty they inspire. Hopefully my IRO angus drivetrain will be quiet like yours. Do you like the soma cog? I've wondered whay ppl are thinking about those.

Its a cog---suppossed to be good quality and hasn't failed yet--so, yes i like it. I wanted a dura ace (which I have on my other bike), but the shop was out of them with the number of teeth size I wanted. honestly couldnt tell you I notice a difference b-t the two brands.

Here's mine, (crappy camera phone pic) used most of the parts from my kilo tt that was to small. Threw on a threadless adapter, have an adjustable stem so I could figure out what is most comfortable for me. Once i'm not broke as hell gonna get some new wheels, crank, stem, seat post, etc... Fun as hell to ride though.

it's orange.
it's a straight on shot, though I live on a hill, so the sidewalk is going down.

better shots soon.

The pedals have been switched out for Eggbeaters, it's getting a brake, and I'm hunting for a more appropriate stem, but it's almost there.

Finally got my bike together. This is my first FG bike and my first build. After riding it a bit, I think I need a longer stem so I'm looking to switch out my 100mm for a 120mm. Cosmetically, I'd also like to change to leather bar tape, dye the saddle a darker brown, and maybe get a black seatpost. But that aside, I'm loving it. Spent last night in Com Ave working on my track stand. Props to Cambridge Bicycle School for helping with the build and everyone here for advice.

I'm also had this fleur de lis cut at a local metal smith shop to use as a headbadge. I'm working on getting it bent to fit the head tube....

did anybody's bfssfgiro frame come with screws in the bottle cage holes?

chase. 10-23-07 11:57 AM

that's a nice build. love the bars and saddle, and the mismatched wheel doesn't even bother me.
