Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

radial is best left for front wheels if at all. It is not as well suited to take the torque of transferring power. it also makes for a much less vertically compliant wheel= stiffer ride

it is some times used on low spoke count road wheels on the non drive side of the rear though.

some people claim that they can actually feel a difference when using a radially laced wheel (that it's springy/cushiony compared to most other types), but i doubt that they'd notice if you blindfolded 'em.
they look damn sexy though.

as for a deep v, well, it's just a rim. lace it any way you want.

Deep V's:
-heavy
-gaudy
-strong
-not aero
-everyone has a pair.

I prefer Fusions myself.

Bikes: yes

i can feel the difference between my wheel that's got a high flange hub radially laced, and my wheel that's low flange laced 3-cross. the radial wheel shudders and transmits more vibrations up the bike into my hands. the 3cross one absorbs.

i'll let you guess which i prefer riding.

I'm a 200lbs dude and I only rock radial fronts and I have never had a out true front wheel or a flat spot for that matter. well that not entirly true I have one 3cross front and I can't really feel any difference.
and I slam my bikes around
