Most of the time I ride with jeans and a tshirt but yesterday I knew that I was going to ride for an extended amount of time (30+ miles) so I went straight for my spandex pants and tank. I didn't ending up getting hot in my spandex at all while I would have if I were wearing my jeans. I remained quite cool instead.

Don't get me wrong guys. I usually prefer my jeans but, when it's hot and humid like it has been in Chicago I'll go for either my spandex 3/4 pants or shorts.

This was for commuting to work, which is 15 miles. Farther than that, I might have to make other considerations.
So yes is the answer to the statement or the question?

My only road bike is a fixed gear and I actually ride it distance. I love the way riding around town helmetless and in street clothes feels, but that's just not well suited to riding very far.

Do everybody a favor and wear black though, sheesh. I was on a race team years ago and our "outfits" (because that's really what they were) were silver and red. Silver in the dickie area, red panels up the side. When we sweat the silver panels would become translucent. So at the age of 17 every chick that showed up to the races got to see my cock n balls. I actually became comfortable with it and I think it helped my early 20's career in amateur porn.

This picture is funny, it's making its way all around the 'net. I even got it from a non-biking buddy of mine who didn't know I rode.

i recently just bought a pair of bike shorts. great decision, i only use it if i think my friends and i will go on a long ride. just put em on under a pair of shorts, throw on a white tshirt, sleeves or no sleeves and im good to go. i would feel way to awkard in a full spandex outfit, i dont take myself that seriously.

More poser photos here: https://www.cyclingnews.com/track.php...tivalofspeed07

I wear normal clothes if I am running an errand or commuting but if I am out for a training ride...be it 20 miles or 40 miles or whatever then I am wearing my bibs and a jersey.

I'm so confused. Those riders are on carbon wheels, meaning they are hipsters.

Then they are wearing lycra, so they aren't hipsters.

omg.

I can't believe it took 3 pages for someone to mention that track bikes are *gasp* made for track racing. I guess I'm a total poseur:

I almost always wear bike shorts, not matter how far I am going. I keep a pair of cargo shorts and a light tshirt in my backpack incase I need to go somewhere that skin tight clothing is not appropriate.

Yeah the Chia Pet Effect can be a little embarrassing. Its generally not a problem if you are facing someone cause unless their eyes are fixed on your junk they wont see the hairs, but EVERYONE who sees you in profile is going to notice.

Oh, and I'll add that nothing quite beats the self-satisfied entertainment of walking into the gas station to get some water + snacks during a long ride, wearing nothing but sweat-soaked lycra. Sure gets them country boys uncomfortable. 'Specially when the blood starts flowing back to my junk.
