How disks are different from spoked wheels?
They ride like ****, catch wind and make a lot of noise. They also make you marginally faster but if you're not racing that doesn't matter.

I wouldn't have bought it in the first place but since you have I would use parts I have laying around and maybe some old flipped scott drops to make a joke bike, that's really all it's good for.
I sure as hell wouldn't buy a disk and further drive up the prices for people who actually could use one. And if I was doing something as stupid as dumping money on that peice of crap I wouldn't complain about others who had done something similiar.

5 chainrings and three cogs it was actually bought for it's intended purpose not as a status symbol so that means money goes to things that effect how fast I go, like gearing, rather then how it looks.

Yeah, there are lots of single chainrings at cyclocross races, although I pass lots of people with my set-up (48-38 x 12-32). I will never understand why people still run 10 speed road cassettes (12-23, 12-25) on cross bikes. You would do so so so much better spinning on a 9 speed mountain cassette (12-32, 12-34) as I often do. I'm contemplating moving down to a single with chain guards on either side, but I find myself using my big ring for flat sprints.

By the way, Dutret, I ended up picking up a disc with both a 7spd freecassette and track threads, so I'll likely be setting it up as both so I can use it for my road rides. Surly makes track ends with a derailleur hanger.

Those old disks sell for about twice what they should(and about 60% more then I can afford) thanks to *******s like you. So yeah it kind of pisses me off when a few hundreths of a second that a disk means costs me a race thanks to you and your ilk. FOAD

Disc wheels (much like pursuit frames) work well for speed and as fashion accessories and I love them as both.

Yeah supply and demand is a ***** and it's a free country so buy whatever the **** you want. If people didn't buy **** they didn't need just so that others could see it the economy would collapse. I will however continue to ***** about it and not excuse the shtieaters who do it in a way that effects be just cause they don't see themselves as fashionable. After a few beers and a disk being one(and the easiest remedied) of the reasons I didn't do as well as I could have at a race it may even get me a little mad. I don't know about you, but I still see disc wheels in the $100-$200 range on eBay and Craigslist regularly, which I think is totally reasonable. They command more money than they used to, but clearly more people are racing track now than were just a year ago, so it's equally likely that track racers are driving up the prices, as it is hipsters.

I have not seen a decent one all summer for under $250 while they used to $100-$150.

While it is true that more people are racing usacycling numbers aren't showing it yet. This suggests that while weeknight practice series are seeing an increase in ridership the majority of these people aren't serious yet. And really with the exception of a handful of hipsters who ride them around town as well as the track and roadies who took them off their tt bikes get I don't see many aerowheels on low cat riders bikes. I have seen manyfold increase in the number I see being ridden around by jackasses like bassmoniker and blickblocks(though women like her seem to be fairly rare for some reason).
