Again, good pattern, but a little furry and ill-conceived to me.

a front disc brake would really make this thing in your face crazy, but while this is an awesome 700 dollar bike, i think it would be a sucky 800 dollar bike.

So.....what about the Felt Dispatch. I hear it's like a non-hideous Curbside? Everybody's all up in arms about the Curbside, though, so nobody seems to say anything about the Dispatch. Anyone know....anything?

not bad.

no verve or sass or bling, but it would probably stick out less.

then again, it has compact geometry so i'm sure everyone will hate it here.

lifestyle branding is a marketing technique, it's about selling a "lifestyle" rather than just a product. who said i was talking about them taking my lifestyle?

Okay, I'm new to bikes. What is the difference between compact and normal geometry. I can see the visual difference, but what does it do for the ride of the bike?

No. You are half-right.

A product is called "lifestyle" because it's not a competition level product. For example, a Converse Chuck Taylors, Nike Air Force 1, and Asics Onitsuka Tigers are considered a "lifestyle" shoes because no modern athlete would actually compete wearing them.

I think that is allows for a stiffer and lighter frame and also the bike companies only have to make three of four sizes that fit everyone

Bikes: Brew, Felt TK2, Masi Coltello, and Unknown French Frame.

That bike is not even that ugly.

The color is unique its pretty sick btw... its like a seafoam green that your brides maids wear.

It looks like it has similar geometry as a Langster or them NYC Frames.

I dont really see anything i hate about it. Except its a single speed.

I like it.

i think compact geometry looks kinda cool... also its alot more comfortable when actually riding... my road bike is compact and my fixed is traditional.. i personally wouldnt purchase a compact fixed.. but can you really blame them?

i can see where these companies are going with compact on fixed.. just giving things a little modern look... felt isnt a bike company with a deep history.. there are already tons of vintage and new bikes with traditional geometry... why not offer something differnt like compact? and they dont have to make as many sizes in them

This is probably the first adult bike to be shipped with a top tube pad. If you’re unfamiliar with the top tube pad phenomenon, it’s basically a hybrid of a doggie sweater and a bumper badger. Also, the nose-down saddle is the flat-brim 45-degree hat tilt of the cycling world, and Felt has done its homework by pre-tilting this one. Look for people to start rolling up at the local alleycats on these things soon. “Hey, guys. Can I play too?”

Did anyone stop to think that maybe they painted the bike that color to get attention (which it obviously did) at the trade show and that the production models might have different colors?

Isn't attracting attention one of the objectives of participating in a trade show?

If it were a plain, matte black bike would anyone have noticed? Would we be talking about it now?

How is compact more comfortable? Your contact points with the bike are all that matters.

i'm talking more about advertisement analysis and the prevalence of the selling of lifestyle and social circumstance, as opposed to selling just a product.

This bike was obviously just a concept to see what bike forums thinks about it. I'll only get one if the frame glows in the dark.

I get mine Friday and will use it as my commuter bike. I know it's not the best looking or "coolest" bike on the planet but it's mine and don't really care much what others think, oh yeah I like the langstes too.

i saw one in person last weekend at a store, and then someone riding one in the lower east side near my apt. i think it totally rocks, and i'd happily ride one all over town.

I do agree that that bike is engineering ************!

Bikes: 2008 Felt Curbside

I have been riding my curbside for a couple months. I may be ugly to some but it's fine for me. I've changed some stuff so that it fit me better. I really like it. I'm also a newbie so take that into account.
