Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Flip flop questions..

Hey guys, today my chain smapped on my bike and I think im ready to convert to single speed or fixed. I was wondering if dishing is even possible with a flip flop wheel or if you just get spacers for the chainring. It seems like if it was dished, you wouldnt be able to flip it back and forth. I was looking at this wheelset and was wondering if its ok for my beater. https://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-TRACK-ROAD-B...QQcmdZViewItem thanks in advance. matt

Your intuition is correct, flipflop wheels aren't dished at all. You line up the chainrings by using the correct length bottom bracket. There's plenty to read about this at sheldonbrown.com.

Vuelta wheels are OK, but lots of people have had really good luck with the slightly more expensive stuff from bicyclewheels.com
