Wow it is a really small world haha, I was glad to see such a nice guy get his bike back, must peole arn't that lucky.

lordgold 11-27-07 05:07 PM

When did it get stolen? I don't remember him saying anything about it.

804RVA 11-27-07 05:16 PM

He got it stolen sometime in October I think, it was unlocked over at Shafer, but I found it over on Grove. I think it was missing for a grand total of less then a day, because when I went to post a listing on craigslist someone had already posted about him losing it.

Dude I always ogle that bike, I really like it, I hope that you take care of this situation and get her bike back.

On another note, Jenkinsal2 sadly since that wheel was a 27 inch it didn't fit my frame (sucks I know). But I did get it to spin pretty good so if anyone needs a decent 27 inch wheel get at me. In conclusion I am still looking for a 700c front wheel if anyone has one they arn't using. Also Jenkins I am hopefully going to Recycles tomorrow so if that happens I will try to get them to take that lockring off for you.

Jenkinsal2 11-27-07 10:21 PM

Sorry about that. Thanks again for the lockring though. Is anybody in here interested in getting together sometime this week to go riding? What are some times that you guys have free maybe we could get a small group together.

oh no its been taken care of. it was found about 2 days later. some kids tried to sell it at a local bike shop(not sure which one). but the workers were very curious because these kids had no idea what kind of bike they had.

Hey guys, I'm from Newport News, and a first year here at VCU. Currently riding a green Schwinn Varsity vintage road bike, I know there's a girl that has one just like it on campus. Just wanted to say hello, and see what the word was on here. I'm probably gonna order my first fixie over the weekend, so we'll see how that goes...

VAwitt 11-28-07 02:50 AM

from NN?
i run bad news
who are you?

If it has flat bars and parks in front of Great Wraps, I was wondering if the person who owned it was on this thread while riding to work last night.

it's got the stock drop downs with the green tape. The bike itself is pretty much stock except for the pugeot quick release wheels, new tires, brake cables, and chain. It's been a great bike, but I'm gonna have to sell it to fund my new bike. I don't ever have it locked up much, except when I'm at work and its parked at the garage.

Hey guys, I'm looking to get my first fixie, and I don't know whether I should buy a kilo TT or something and then replace parts as needed, or if I should build a bike from the ground up? I was pretty set on the cheap bike+upgrades route, but I'm not so sure now. Any of you guys want to take me under your wing and help me piece together my first fixie?

gearkraft 11-28-07 05:27 PM

I received my Kilo in the mail today...im HYPED. Oh, zsno after doing some shopping/research being in a similar situation to the one you are in, I opted for the Kilo for several reasons:

1) The kilo can be had for $350 shipped all day long...
2) Because the Kilo comes as a complete bike, you have transportation until you can afford upgrades.
3) Horizontal drop outs + Lugged Fork = sex

My friend brandon has had one for some time, and he had nothing but fantastic things to say.

Can you give us an idea on your budget and goals? What are you going to be primarily using it for? More info would help us asses your needs.

I have a 700c front wheel I'm not using that I'm selling. If you're interested let me know.

Hey man. I was really considering the Kilo for exactly the same reasons you stated. I was just informed that building from the ground up would be better, but you know I can't ride just a frame around. I'm looking to just get a decent bike to learn how to ride fixie on, and trying to spend under $400 initially(aka this month). There's always room to upgrade. Maybe we can hang sometime and you'll let me check your bike out?
