Hey man. I was really considering the Kilo for exactly the same reasons you stated. I was just informed that building from the ground up would be better, but you know I can't ride just a frame around. I'm looking to just get a decent bike to learn how to ride fixie on, and trying to spend under $400 initially(aka this month). There's always room to upgrade. Maybe we can hang sometime and you'll let me check your bike out?

Also, for a shameless plug, I recommend buying parts from bunnyhop bike shop. Luke (who works there) has never steered me wrong, and he has a real way of telling you whats up with a certain part or fix... even if it means he might not make a sale. Bunnyhop comes highly recommended.

Well it sounds like you know exactly what you want... bravo! You are more than welcome to come chill/check the ride out. I would recommend measuring yourself to find out which size to look into, since there is a bit of a gap in the sizing of the kilo.

Saturday afternoon sounds good. As for Luke, I think he is a really nice guy, but can (at times) be quite the bike snob. Now that is not to say he doesn't know what he is talking about, just my .02
As for the sudden outbreak of Kilos on campus, I'll be contributing to that trend when I return from winter break. :D |

+1... I only know of one, and its covered in stickers. IRO's on the other hand... seem to be quite popular, but nothing plagues the VCU campus more than the dreaded SE Draft.

There was a SE Draft left at my house for an extended period of time. I rode that bad mama jama around one afternoon. Maybe it was the fit (65cm) but that bike isn't even suited for a clown. |
