VCU People
Who are you/what do your bikes look like I wanna see if I know anyone on here or if I see your bikes on a daily basis.
I know this is a sucky thread but I am bored in econ... |
yea, econ can be boooring...read the ny times article yesterday about home equity (http://www.nytimes.com/2007/11/08/bu...rssnyt&emc=rss ) ...dayuuum...money is no longer real!! ...well, never was really
|
i think i'm sitting a couple rows behind you. i can see you surfing bikeforums now...
j/k but that would be crazy eh? |
you best be sorbin that edumacation son!
somebody be payin for it and you aint gonna be wastin that **** now you hear |
if you ever go to bowe street, you'll see an old, HUGE blue centurion. that's my current ride until my new wheels come in. it's mid-conversion right now.
after christmas, i'll be riding a brand new green kilo. |
I'm embarrassed to be from VCU right now. I just got out of a lecture by Col. DiSalvo and it was a disgrace. An academic briefing and all people could do was yell at him the whole time about the war in Iraq.
My bike is in my sig! I'm one of like 2 battleship grey pistas around here. I dont have a brake anymore because I broke my lever so I switched down to 46x16 gearing instead of 48. Not a huge difference but it helps at all the stop lights. http://velospace.org/files/pista_3.jpg |
Anyone know who owns the Merckx 711 road bike?
|
You might see me on the red conversion. Fixed with 38c tires and gary bars. Or I might be on the fixed blue beach cruiser with 700c wheels and BMX bars.

The top tube protector is for the lock.

I may have seen your bike outside of Hibbs earlier on the way to Shaffer, but I hope not cause it was locked with the ****tiest of cable locks, here's hoping that wasn't you.
I felt like i got invited to a secret society. Within like an hour of making a velospace someone commented on my bike and invited me to hang out in front of shafer. |
Anyone know the guy with the Celeste San Jose?
-Rob. |
straws... wtf? i don't think i'd ever post where i left my bike for extended periods of time and how i locked it up on a public forum. i suggest people in this thread use a less public way of divulging this information before someone takes all your bikes and you all have to find a new way to hang out together.

In Straw's defense, where he is talking about is in the middle of a pedestrian plaza lined with bike racks. There are seriously about 150 bikes or more locked up there during the day. At least thirty or so desireable hipster bikes, and most not locked up as well as his.
But caution never hurt anyone ;) -Rob. |
Plus I keep coming and going all day. I lock up like 5 times a day.
and seriously, there are much nicer bikes held on with the tiny cables and combination locks. I'm not all that worried. |
Yeah, the Compass is a pretty safe place, with Shafer being there and the constant foot traffic throughout the day.
I leave my beater locked up for days on the bike racks to the side of Johnson, and it hasn't been touched. |
You don't have to run faster than the bear, you have to run faster than your buddy.
Seriously, if your bike looks rattier than the guy's bike next to you, or have it locked better, your bike is less likely to be stolen. Your's doesn't have to be unstealable, just harder than the next guys. Seriously though, is bike theft a big problem in the fan? None of my bikes are that desireable, and most of my friends keep their bikes inside. -Rob. |
pirate love wheres teh soma? and about that merckx, is that the one that is horribly locked up everywhere?
