I miss my sambas. I threw them out after they absorbed the smell of formaldehyde and cadavers for a semester of anatomy lab. I wish I kept them. The classics are kinda painful compared to modern soccer shoes when kicking the ball. I didn't really bike much in them tho. I think I might get a red pair soon.

I'd be down if we could get one going.

Hey, it seems people in the us do play soccer then. Good for you. Just remember: proper balls are round.

I don't wear sambas tho.

Seriously, I bought three pairs when I found them on sale for $15 at mervyns. I would buy more in a second. I'm on my fifth pair right now I think. I guess I don't get bored of shoes.

Sambas for indoor soccer, only. Street shoes to the venue, sambas on the (wooden) pitch. Concrete wears out the gummy sole quick.

and cold weather/lots of temperature change makes the gum sole stiff and slick. for some reason sambas' gum soles are quite susceptible to this— my adi spezials haven't stiffened up nearly as much.

I prefer the Samba Milleniums myself, more heel support, same slim nose for easy clip entry.
