Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

name that brake lever

so i picked this up at my local bike co-op sorting out a big box of parts someone donated. anyone know anything about it? it feels/looks like aluminum, anodized, and the thing i like (other than the sleek shape) is that it can be flipped and used on either side. i didn't recognize the logo at all. sorry for the crappy cell phone pics.

Looks like it could be VG Components, a (defunct?) BMX component company. Could you have got the photos more out of focus?

most definitely. I've got a set in red tucked away somewhere. that's definitely the VG (Von Giesse) Logo. Circa mid to late '80s, iirc. definitely a nice find

AFAIR, they still existed into the 90s.
