Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? How would you ride powergrips without strapping in? I've tried riding on the other side of the pedals but then the straps scrape the floor. Step on the straps?

Do you mean width? I have damn wide feet at a EE width and have had no problems with them at all. They also make extra long straps if needed.

I've got MKS GR-9's and Xtra Large Clips w/ straps. I only wear casual shoes when riding. The GR-9's don't eat your soles like other pedals. They are comfortable and inexpensive. I have used many different kinds of pedals and these are my ultimate preference.

Sounds like you didn't set them up properly. I've used them on all manor of bikes for 15 years with no issues at all.

I have those on 2 FG bikes and a host of others and have had no problems. Did you follow the directions to the letter?

You'd have to sell him the shants +4 before he'd have them equip'd.
